So I was at the local library with Imani the other day. We rode our bikes there. :) We mainly went to return a book and to turn in Imani's reading log for the summer reading program. She ended up finding a book she wanted to check out, she is a BIG book lover like her mom. While she was checking out her book I decided to browse the new book section. I have to admit I often pick books by their covers. This book Little Bee caught my attention. Reading the cover and inside flap doesn't really give you much about the story, but I decided to take a chance. I'm really glad I did. If you are looking for a good summer read, I highly recommend this book! It took me barely a week to read, maybe a little less. It was one of those books that when I finished it I was sad that it was over already. It is an excellent book, it is heart wrenching for sure, but still I'm really glad I happened to pick it up.
The other two books I've read so far this summer are: My Sister's Keeper , I'm Down: a memoir and now I'm on to Best Friends Forever by one of my favorite authors, Jennifer Weiner.
