In response to your question on my blog, you don't need the diamond glaze. But you do need to seal the photos somehow. If you print your pictures onto regular printer paper, you can use modge podge over the top instead of diamond glaze. The glaze gives it a glossy raised finish, just polishes it up a bit.
I don't know if modge podge will work on regular photos, I have never tried it. Just experiment and see, then let me know! Something similar to diamond glaze is called Ailene's Paper Glaze. I have never used it. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more q's!
