It's that time again. Tomorrow is Imani's 1st day back to school. She is going into the 3rd grade. Even as I type that I am still blown away by that thought. It will be nice to have some time to myself again, but really I'm mourning the loss of summer right along with her. I'm sad for many reasons: we won't be able to spend as much time together, we have to get back into that RUSHING all the time school schedule, and I'm not going back to school. Isn't it so true, you always want what you don't have. When I was working I was counting down the days until summer. Now I wish so much that I was back in my own classroom with students again.
I'm hoping that Imani has a great school year, that she likes her teacher, learns a lot, and makes a lot of good friends. I hope she learns more about friendships and working things out with friends. I hope she makes tons of new friends, even if that means carting her back and forth to play dates. I will miss her when she's at school, but for now at least I'll be able to take her to and from school. I'll be able to come home with her after school and hear all about her day.
I'll post some 1st day of school pictures soon. :)

Wow, it sounds strange to hear you say that Imani is in 3rd grade! It is bittersweet isn't it? Good to see you blogging...
